About The Position

This is a part-time Medical Director position for the Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography Department. The role involves participating in program planning and evaluation of instruction for all aspects of cardiovascular sonography, teaching students, and ensuring adequate physician contact for students. The Medical Director will also evaluate and instruct program faculty, serve as a liaison physician between the program and other medical professionals, and guide the program's advancement. Responsibilities include participating in program accreditation activities, serving on the Advisory Committee, and providing guidance on curriculum content and program goals. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Licensed physician.
Training and experience in cardiovascular diseases and therapy.

An active interest in the education of qualified cardiovascular sonographers.
Working knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and the ability to use them responsibly, ethically, and in compliance with organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities

Participate in program planning and evaluation of instruction for all aspects of cardiovascular sonography in cooperation and collaboration with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education.
Participate in teaching of students.
Assure that the students receive adequate physician contact.
Evaluate and instruct program faculty.
Serve as the liaison physician between the program and other medical professionals.
Guide, advise, and advance the program by providing active and timely medical direction.
Participate in program accreditation activities every five (5) to ten (10) years.
Serve as a member of the Advisory Committee and attend meetings.
Provide guidance as to curriculum content and sequence.
Assist to determine and update program goals.
Other duties as assigned.
