About The Position

MeadowWood Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Medical Director / Psychiatrist to join their team. This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. The position involves providing clinical services, practicing within medical protocols, reviewing medical information for patient stability and recommendations, evaluating patients for disorders, treating patients with various psychotherapeutic methods and medications, reviewing and completing medical information for care plans, and maintaining confidential documentation, compliance, and billing.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
• Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
• Board certification in psychiatry
• Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.
• Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
• Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
• Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
• Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
• Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
• Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.
