About The Position

Are you passionate about Medical Affairs in Oncology? Do you have the expertise to make a significant impact in the role of Medical Director for US Oncology Medical Affairs? If so, AstraZeneca could be the perfect fit for you! As a Medical Director, you will play a crucial role within the US Oncology Medical Affairs organization, reporting directly to the Medical Head. Your responsibility will be the execution of medical plans for specific or multiple indications within a specified disease area.

Requirements

  • Sophisticated Scientific Degree (MBBS, PharmD, PhD, or MD) or equivalent education
  • 3+ years of Medical Affairs experience
  • Experience in relationship and partner management (3P’S-Payer, Provider and Patients)
  • Project and relationship management experience
  • Experience with Evidence generation and clinical trial methodology
  • Business Insight Foundation knowledge
  • Financial Management Foundation knowledge
  • Matrix team functionality specialist

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate degree, PharmD (MD or equivalent) with Oncology specialization or PhD in Sciences preferred
  • HQ Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Understanding of the latest technical, regulatory, policy, and real-world evidence-generation dimensions
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience delivering country medical affairs plans

Responsibilities

  • Support the medical plan by coordinating the development of the integrated medical affairs plan (iMAP), implementing key projects, and supervising budget spend.
  • Influence the Field Engagement plan by synthesizing field insights into actionable tactics and modifying plans as vital.
  • Complete all medical affairs leadership team directives.
  • Support quarterly iMAP reviews at the core medical team (CMT) in collaboration with the Medical Lead.
  • Provide cross-functional coverage by supporting the Medical Lead on the CMT and leading working groups as appropriate.
