About The Position

Medical Director – Primary Care & Community Health Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Lead clinical excellence while shaping the future of community health. Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC), a respected Federally Qualified Health Center in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, is seeking a Medical Director to guide clinical operations and support provider leadership while maintaining an active clinical practice. This role offers the opportunity to combine direct patient care with meaningful organizational leadership in a mission-driven healthcare organization. Position Overview Leadership / Clinical Mix Approximately 6 clinical FTE 4 leadership FTE The Medical Director partners with executive leadership to support clinical strategy, quality improvement, and provider development while continuing to care for patients in a collaborative team-based environment. Leadership Scope The Medical Director will: Provide clinical leadership for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants Mentor providers and support recruitment and onboarding Lead initiatives related to clinical quality, population health, and care delivery Collaborate with leadership across medical, behavioral health, dental, and care coordination services Support implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and evidence-based care standards Partner with the CEO and executive team on strategic initiatives Practice Environment Rockbridge Area Health Center provides care through a collaborative, team-based model designed to support high-quality patient care and provider satisfaction.
