About The Position

Impact Health is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and forward thinking Medical Director or Attending Physician to join our growing healthcare team in Danbury, CT! The Medical Director is a licensed physician (a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy) that organizes and assumes overall responsibility for the medical component of a Skilled Nursing Facility setting. This role provides clinical leadership to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations. The Medical Director partners with leadership, attending physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to promote overall clinical excellence with continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

  • MD or DO from accredited medical school.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics Preferred).
  • Have current state and federal registrations to prescribe and administer drugs, including controlled substances.
  • The Medical Director has the required licensure, education, training and qualifications required by rule, regulation, law and/or statute to qualify for the role in their state.
  • Eligible to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
  • Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards

Responsibilities

  • Available for consultation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and arranges coverage when not available.
  • Certify that the patients meet the medical criteria for overall care based upon available diagnostic and prognostic indicators, review of medical records, and nursing reports.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that the medical needs of the patient are met and provide evidence-based initiatives for individual diagnosis, treatments, and plans of care.
  • Review of medical records, and nursing reports.
  • Review clinical outcomes, adverse events and infection control programs and Oversee Quality Assurance and QAPI.
  • Maintain on-site presence and be available for consultation when clinically necessary.
  • Provides comprehensive medical direction to Facility.
