About The Position

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene / Cheshire Medical Center is seeking a Medical Director to lead and help expand Psychiatric Services. This role involves working with the Chief Medical Officer at D-H Keene/Cheshire Medical Center and the leadership of the academic Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Health to build psychiatry services. The Medical Director is a strategic member of the Medical Provider Leadership Group at Cheshire and collaborates with other departments. Administrative responsibilities include oversight of clinical services, direct supervision of psychiatrists and staff, recruitment, quality improvement initiatives, and liaison with community treatment programs. Clinical duties include outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management, outpatient collaborative care, psychiatric consultations to the ED and inpatient medical units, and outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management services at Cheshire Medical Center’s Doorway Department (MAT program). The role also involves supervising psychiatric advanced practice providers and offers teaching opportunities in the Keene/Cheshire Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program and the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Psychiatry Residency Program, with potential for academic appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. This is an opportunity to develop a sustainable service in a rural, underserved community for an experienced Psychiatrist passionate about making a difference.

Requirements

  • Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
  • Post graduate training in residency program
  • Current New Hampshire Medical License
  • Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
  • Active hospital staff membership
  • Experienced Psychiatrist
  • Ability to work effectively with and care for individuals from all backgrounds

  • Faculty who participate in teaching will be eligible for an academic appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth

Responsibilities
