About The Position

The West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, invites applications for a Medical Director of Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiology. This position is open to candidates eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The selected candidate will primarily practice at our main campus in Morgantown, WV. The successful candidate will join our dynamic and expanding Division of Pediatric Cardiology, which serves a diverse patient population both at the WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital and across the state through our comprehensive outreach program. This program includes diagnostic testing at various outreach clinics. Our division currently includes specialists in fetal cardiology, general pediatric cardiology, advanced imaging, interventional catheterization, both noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, and preventive cardiology.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligibility for a state medical license.
  • Completion of a Pediatric residency program and Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program.
  • Additional formal training in pediatric electrophysiology is required.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
  • For consideration at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, candidates must demonstrate a track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care in pediatric cardiology with a specialization in electrophysiology.
  • Collaborate with advanced practice professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows.
