About The Position

University of Michigan Health-Sparrow is seeking a full-time, dynamic, board-certified Psychiatrist to serve as the Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services. University of Michigan Health- UMH-Sparrow is committed to improving access to medical care across the Mid-Michigan region. Administrative responsibilities: · Protected administration time-80% clinical, 20% administration · Clinical oversight of all behavior health services- inpatient treatment for adult and geriatric populations, outpatient partial hospitalization, day treatment, and outpatient chemical dependency · Provides physician leadership and assures delivery of clinical care UMH-Sparrow mission, vision, values and policies · Implements and promotes UMH-Sparrow clinical care quality initiatives, and process improvement activities · Participates with UMH-Sparrow administration in strategic planning and budgeting · Assists with peer review function · Performs annual evaluations of practice/group physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants and recommends performance improvement plans as needed · Serves as liaison between practice/group physicians and associates General Information: · Call 1 in 4 weekends and some weekdays as negotiated · Inpatient psychiatry census averages 26 patients on the adult unit and 17 patients on the geriatric unit · EPIC EMR · Big Ten University city Position is hospital-employed and offers: · Excellent compensation and benefits including vacation, holiday time off, medical, dental and vision coverage · Relocation assistance, 401(k) with matching funds, generous CME benefits · Malpractice insurance

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience as a psychiatrist
  • Eligible to be licensed in the State of Michigan
  • Board Certified
  • MD/DO
