About The Position

Reporting to the US Medical Affairs (USMA) Dermatology Lead, the Medical Director will contribute to the planning and execution of medical strategies and tactics for Pfizer’s dermatology franchise and expanding portfolio of medicines in I & I / Specialty Care. The Director will be an integral member of the US Medical Affairs-Dermatology team, supporting current marketed medicines, as well as compounds in clinical development, pipeline medicines, and life-cycle management. The Director will provide Pfizer brand teams with customer and clinical insights to inform Pfizer strategies, facilitate the development of customer-focused scientifically-based and clinically relevant resources and tools to support medical communications and engagements to improve patient outcomes and access to quality medicines. The Director will develop long-term relationships with key healthcare stakeholders and customers, including professional organizations, patient societies, healthcare providers, and key opinion leaders to demonstrate the clinical and economic value of our medicines. These activities are intended to educate and help inform on the benefit/risk profile and the safe and effective use of our medicines with HCPs and formulary decision-makers through medical presentations, pharmaco-economic analyses, and outcomes evaluations. Additional customer collaborations are built with the goal of aligning corporate medical priorities with the specific needs of the customer to advance the quality of patient care, to identify provider and/or patient care gaps and knowledge gaps, and areas for quality improvement interventions. The Director will develop an advanced perspective of the evolving clinical and healthcare landscape within Dermatology and other aligned therapeutic areas.

Requirements

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Advanced degree and relevant experience in Dermatology, pharmaceutical industry, clinical/medical practice, or combination of these (e.g., PhD or PharmD with 5+ years) or 7+ years of relevant experience with MBA/MS or 8+ years of relevant experience with BA/BS
  • Relationship builder within and outside of Pfizer
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Team oriented for success
  • Permanent work authorization in the United States.

  • Specialty training and board certification in Dermatology
  • Clinical experience in Dermatology or Immunology
  • Experience in Medical Affairs

Responsibilities

  • Participate in reviewing & approving promotional and non-promotional materials ensuring fair balance
  • Collaborate with cross functional colleagues from Commercial, Organized Customer, Field Medical, HEOR and relevant internal stakeholders to drive US strategic direction for the brands
  • Ability to plan and lead successful advisory boards, congress-related symposia & congress planning
  • Ability to contribute and lead publication planning, data generation activities and other medical/scientific activities related to informing HCPs on appropriate use of Pfizer medicines
  • Serve as a reliable, trusted source of accurate and scientific knowledge for the clinical data, disease state, product label and competitive intelligence data sets from clinical trials and other sources of available scientific information
  • Participate in developing and maintaining HCP engagement plans for HQ Medical Affairs
  • Congress support in collaboration with US and Global colleagues
  • Support internal data interpretation and alignment activities
  • Support evidence dissemination and education activities including scientific publications and scientific exchange
  • Support internal medical training curriculum in collaboration with the I&I medical affairs capabilities group
  • Work with marketing and training group on appropriate timelines and expectations for Sales Training
  • Support training needs through partnership in developing materials and provide expert medical presentations and education
  • Support development of training modules
  • Partner with MI colleagues to provide expert input into Medical Letters and ensure updates as needed
