About The Position

The Centers is seeking a Medical Director of Crisis Services to oversee psychiatric care across their Crisis Receiving Center. This center includes a 40-chair crisis receiving center for individuals in mental health or substance use crisis and a 16-bed voluntary crisis stabilization unit. The role collaborates with an on-site medically managed withdrawal program and a multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to shape the future of behavioral health in the community. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD/DO).
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (required).
  • Ohio Medical License (or eligibility).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in crisis services, behavioral health, or substance use treatment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed care that respects individual goals, promotes engagement, and reduces barriers to treatment.

Nice To Haves

  • Addiction Psychiatry Board Certification (preferred).
  • Leadership and management experience in behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach to crisis assessment, stabilization, and treatment.
  • Foster a culture of respect, engagement, and collaboration that supports individuals across a wide range of behavioral health and substance use needs.
  • Support low-barrier access to evidence-based psychiatric and addiction treatment services.
  • Provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care within crisis services.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, prescribe medications, and oversee treatment planning.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Monitor program outcomes, support quality improvement, and contribute to organizational strategy.
  • Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies as needed.
