About The Position

The Medical Director of Operations is the clinician leader accountable for daily fulfillment of JMMG’s staffing operation and the execution of JMMG’s Policies via Procedures. The Medical Director of Operations shall report to the JMMG VP of Hospitalist or Ambulatory Operations. JMMG’s priority is to pursue the underlying community health mission by managing the complexity of the organization with its many stakeholders. The scope of services provided by JMMG includes direct clinical service staffing, management operations, and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree with current Board Certification in an ABMS approved specialty
  • Greater than or equal to 0.5 FTE Clinical Effort expected.
  • Full commitment to JMMG without Outside Employment

Responsibilities

  • Operational excellence managing the clinical services provided by JMMG.
  • Developing procedures to operationalize JMMG policies.
  • Engaging in continuous process improvement efforts and employing the JMH Management system.
  • Fulfilling business obligations, quality of service delivery, human resource management, financial stewardship, and risk/compliance.
  • Daily management may include scheduling (including template management, reassigning patient lists), covering absences and surges, vacations and day to day trouble shooting.
  • Working closely with the Chiefs of multiple specialty divisions in the arenas of human resources, risk, and compliance.
  • Understanding and executing JMMG policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a productive and positive partnership with JMH/JMHPN.
  • Overseeing clinician staffing operations across specified regions.
  • Managing FPO Director Dyad and Managing Partner reports.
  • Coordinating with JMMG Chiefs on operations or HR related to their role in shared regions.
  • Carrying assigned operations tasks or projects (JMMG and/or FPO-related).
  • Owning specific meetings and representing JMMG at others.
  • Owning in-basket coverage scheduling and coordinating with relevant personnel on Pool provider prioritization and scheduling.
