About The Position

We are seeking a Medical Director Addiction Medicine Physician (M.D. or D.O.) providing comprehensive addiction medicine care to patients with substance use disorders. The position would be 25% inpatient and 75% outpatient practice. The In-patient Unit has 20 beds. We also have a Methadone Clinic supporting approximately 620 patients. The position would manage and have oversight of 5 Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioners and 1 Physician. Must be board certified/eligible. Must have completed an ACGME accredited Addiction Medicine fellowship. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: UHS New Horizons Outpatient Addiction Medicine. The physician would perform histories and physical exams and medication management visits, and offers medical care for complications of substance use disorders, as clinically appropriate. Engages in all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis and treatment. Orders labs, EKGs, and other tests as clinically indicated. Leads and/or attends multidisciplinary team meetings in the Addiction Medicine Department. This is for our UHS Addiction Medicine Clinic located at Binghamton General Hospital.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O.
Board certified/eligible
Completed an ACGME accredited Addiction Medicine fellowship

Responsibilities

Perform histories and physical exams
Perform medication management visits
Offer medical care for complications of substance use disorders, as clinically appropriate
Engage in all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis and treatment
Order labs, EKGs, and other tests as clinically indicated
Lead and/or attend multidisciplinary team meetings in the Addiction Medicine Department
Manage and have oversight of 5 Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioners and 1 Physician
