About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Medical Delivery Driver in Silver Spring. The role pays $18.40 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Candidates should initially be flexible to start or end their day up to one hour earlier or later than the posted schedule. The position involves long-distance driving throughout the DMV area, with most of the day spent in a company-owned vehicle transporting medical and related materials. Route duties and assignments may vary based on client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least three years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt to it.
Ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screens.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.

Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks.
Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, X-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to track items accurately throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Drive safely and courteously.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes as needed; adapt to changing route assignments and client or business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
