About The Position
Medical Couriers are responsible for the transportation of medical items to/from labs, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or the on-campus transportation of UMC guests. This role involves driving, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The position is subject to both internal environments of a vehicle and external environments while transporting items.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to drive a commercial vehicle safely
- Able to handle physical exertion and movement
Responsibilities
- Transporting labs, deposits, mail, supplies, equipment, linens, medications, and paperwork to and from the hospital, local labs, or any other partnering facilities.
- Driving the UMC campus shuttle or golf cart, and transporting patients, employees, or visitors from one site on the campus to another site on campus.
- Logging vehicle mileage and maintenance information in the company logbook.
- Performing all other assigned duties related to UMC Courier.
