The Medical Coordinator will perform duties to ensure patient safety, including assessing and monitoring health conditions, assisting with procedures, operating medical equipment, administering vaccines, medications, and treatments, monitoring for side effects, and providing patient and staff education. The position involves validating systems of records for required facility documentation and reporting, communicating with leadership on policy and procedure issues, and participating in the development of health and medical protocols. Key responsibilities also include coordinating with case managers and clinicians, scheduling appointments, arranging transportation, ensuring interpretation services, and acting as a liaison for community health providers. Maintaining complete and confidential health care records in compliance with privacy regulations is essential. The role also requires recognizing and responding to signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and sexually provocative behavior, as well as planning and prioritizing daily work, and understanding safety protocols for emergencies. Maintaining professional and ethical standards, including respect for colleagues and clients, is paramount.
