Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-5 years of Previous experience in healthcare, compliance or legal research is preferred.
  • Preferred experience with AHCA, JCAHO, JCO, AAAHC, QUADA, OBS, and/or ASC.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, and others.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, train, and manage compliance policies and procedures per federal and state laws and regulations for assigned clinics.
  • Actively assist in legal matters including but not limited to subpoenas, demand letters, and medical records requests.
  • Take lead on all adverse incidents and/or unanticipated events.
  • Act as a liaison between the legal department and attorneys to research, identify, and provide all information or document requests from attorneys relating to legal matters.
  • Work alongside the legal department.
  • Conduct research and interpret statutes/regulations that require compliance across assigned clinics.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations, guiding the organization to stay current.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and legal, to address compliance issues and develop solutions.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and strengthen the organization’s compliance posture.
  • Work alongside VP, Growth & Operations to create new policies and/or SOP’s.
  • Prepare for AAAASF inspections and accreditations of new and/or existing clinics.
  • Actively perform in AAAASF and state surveys as a company representative.
  • Organize and keep compliance manuals current for assigned clinics in alignment with state and AAAASF requirements to include but not limited to bibles, QA/QI, CEU.
  • Oversee platforms such as SurgLogs and Scripture.
  • Drive education and achievement of clinic department goals, objectives, and processes to include but not limited to training of tenured staff and new staff.
  • Coordinate and conduct regular training sessions on compliance for employees at all levels.
  • Collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure compliance is met at all times by established policies and procedures.
  • Proactively escalate to the Director of Operations and/or VP, Growth & Operations any perceived obstacles, barriers, problems, or unusual circumstances for compliance measures and outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports on compliance activities, incidents, and corrective actions to senior management.
