About The Position

This is a HYBRID position requiring one day per week in the office for administrative tasks related to Coding Denials work. The ideal candidate must be located near either Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital or Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the entire billing cycle, medical terminology, coding, charge entry, insurance adjudication, contractual agreements, payment posting, statements, and collections. This specific position focuses on Coding Denials.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of multi-specialty coding experience.
  • Proficiency with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD-10), and Health Care Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS).
  • Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD-10), Heath Care Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and Modifier Coding preferred.
  • CCS or CPC required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CCS or CPC Coding Certification (Required).
  • In office Administrative duty required (1 day per week).
  • Must be close to either Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital or Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital Charlottesville.

Nice To Haves

  • Modifier Coding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform medical coding using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Diseases version 10 (ICD-10), and Health Care Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS).
  • Apply modifier coding as needed.
  • Handle administrative tasks for Coding Denials work one day per week in the office.
  • Understand the entire billing cycle, including charge entry, insurance adjudication, contractual agreements, payment posting, statements, and collections.
