About The Position

Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging (SDMI) is seeking a detailed and qualified Medical Coder to join our Revenue Cycle team. In this role, you will review radiology reports to ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, verify insurance contractual charge agreements, and apply NCCI edits. You will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our clinical billing operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Active coding certification required (RCC, AAPC [e.g., CPC/CIRCC], or RHIT).
• Proven prior experience in medical billing, coding, or collections within a healthcare setting.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with the Intergy Radiology Information System is highly preferred.
• Strong foundational knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and radiology-specific coding practices.
• Exceptional accuracy, strong organizational skills, clear verbal and written communication, and a adaptable team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Review radiology documentation to assign correct ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes in alignment with national standards and NCCI edits.
• Cross-reference billing records with insurance plan contracts and charge agreements to ensure compliant reimbursement.
• Prioritize tasks independently to accommodate fluctuating workloads and consistently meet revenue cycle deadlines.
• Work effectively with co-workers, clinicians, and billing personnel to clarify documentation and follow up on coding queries.
• Participate in departmental cross-training and stay up-to-date on updated coding guidelines, SDMI protocols, and industry changes.
• Maintain strict attention to detail, adherence to SDMI safety protocols, and full ownership of daily billing functions.
