About The Position

Codes diagnoses and procedures for inpatient records and abstracts information at defined facilities for reimbursement, research, and statistical reporting. The position also serves as a resource to physicians, physician office staff, clinical documentation specialists, case managers, and others, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Skill and proficiency in coding inpatient records using ICD-10-CM, with one year of experience in an acute care facility, or RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification through AHIMA.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in standard English, in written and oral formats, to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
• Ability to write legibly and record information accurately as needed to perform job duties.
• Training in ICD-10-CM diagnosis and procedure coding.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

Responsibilities
