About The Position

The Department of Social Services, Division of Finance, Office of Electronic Benefits Transfer, is seeking a Medical Travel Specialist to assist Non-Emergency Medicaid Travel (NEMT) providers and recipients with travel claims. The position responds to provider and recipient emails and calls to identify and resolve issues with submitted claims, and processes claims and billings for payment.

The role calls for an organized, energetic, motivated, articulate, and dependable professional with attention to detail and computer skills. The successful candidate will support a team that values collaborative communication, teamwork, partnerships, and trust in delivering essential family services.

Requirements

• High school education or GED is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages using a calculator.
• Proficient keyboarding skills, including typing and 10-key.
• Ability to demonstrate customer service, compassion, respect, courtesy, and tact when interacting with others.
• Ability to understand and apply written instructions.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, compare information, and recognize discrepancies.
• Ability to use computerized data systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Attention to detail; organized, energetic, motivated, articulate, and dependable.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of claims processing practices and procedures is preferred but not required.
• High school education or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emails and calls from NEMT providers and recipients.
• Identify and resolve issues related to submitted claims.
• Process claims and billings for payment.
