About The Position

Cook Children's Healthcare System, based in Fort Worth, Texas, is currently recruiting a full-time Medical Biochemical Geneticist physician to join its growing Department of Genetics. This is a physician-led system known as a national quality leader. The role involves joining a well-established Department of Genetics currently staffed by 7 clinical geneticists, 3 biochemical geneticists, 4 Advanced Practice Providers, 7 board-certified genetic counselors, 8 genetic counseling assistants, 2 metabolic dietitians, and 3 nurses. There is a broad pediatric sub-specialty platform with 35 Departments represented and 46 outpatient primary care clinics in the Cook Children's network, providing partnership opportunities for genetics program development in other specialty areas. The position also includes close involvement with the Texas newborn screening program. The system is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to pediatric care and invites candidates to be part of creating a unique pediatric health care experience from the ground up.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
Successfully completed an ACGME or AMA approved residency and fellowship.
Board certified/Board Eligible in medical or medical biochemical genetics.
Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must obtain prior to start date).
DEA Certificate
American Heart Association BLS

Responsibilities
