About The Position

Columbia Community Mental Health (CCMH) is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic providing services for individuals with mental, addiction, and developmental disabilities. This Medical Billing Specialist position is within the Operations and Business Department. The salary range is $24.29 to $31.62 hourly, with 15 steps on the salary scale. Starting wage is determined by a bona fide factor system considering years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of healthcare billing, revenue cycle, or financial operations experience.
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems is required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years of directly related experience is preferred.
  • Epic or OCHIN Epic experience strongly preferred.
  • An associate’s degree or relevant coursework in healthcare, finance, or business is preferred.
  • Experience with Medicaid/OHP, Medicare, or behavioral health billing is also preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties of the position may be considered.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate billing
  • Payer compliance
  • Authorization tracking
  • Revenue reconciliation within the OCHIN Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Focusing on post-registration processes
  • Supporting clinic-assigned Epic billing work queues across all stages of the revenue cycle
  • Ensuring services are billed correctly
  • Ensuring revenue is captured appropriately
  • Ensuring billing processes support equitable access to care while maintaining compliance and strong internal controls
