Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in medical or healthcare billing required.
  • Demonstrated experience with claims processing, payment posting, and collections.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance plans, and third-party payers.
  • Experience investigating and resolving denied or unpaid claims.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, clinicians, colleagues, and insurance payers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of behavioral health clinical services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of all client Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Prepare, submit, and monitor government and commercial insurance claims for reimbursement.
  • Investigate, research, and resolve unpaid, denied, or rejected claims in a timely manner.
  • Report delinquent accounts and billing concerns to the Billing Manager.
  • Assist clients with resolving complex billing issues and understanding out-of-pocket financial responsibilities.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage as needed.
  • Post payments accurately and support accounts receivable and collection activities.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, payers, and internal departments to ensure timely claim resolution and reimbursement.
  • Support revenue cycle operations through effective follow-up and account management.
  • Utilize spreadsheet and word processing software to perform billing-related duties and reporting.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and provide supportive service to individuals from diverse ethnic, social, and educational backgrounds.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
