Medical Billing & Collections Specialist
About The Position
We are hiring a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist in our Thousand Oaks Branch. Schedule is 8 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday in Office with an hour lunch. Please do not apply if you cannot accommodate schedule. The base hourly range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $25-30 per/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
- Excellent customer service
Nice To Haves
- associate degree is preferred
- Collections, healthcare insurance, and accounts receivable experience are preferred
Responsibilities
- Collect accounts receivable
- Check medical claim status and file appeals
- Performs secondary billing of co-pays and deductibles
- Resolves accounts receivable issues and determines need for additional collection actions as necessary.
- Consistently meets project and monthly deadlines as established.
