About The Position

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. The role is located at our Anaheim location with a work schedule of Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm. The primary duties involve reviewing and resolving professional fee billing and collections accounts to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement from various payers. This includes investigating billing issues, correcting claim errors, following up on outstanding accounts, and researching patient accounts to resolve discrepancies while providing excellent customer service. Maintaining productivity standards and ensuring compliance with payer guidelines, organizational policies, and billing procedures are also key aspects of the role. Requirements

  • Experience with professional fee medical billing and collections, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, commercial insurance, and HMO/capitation plans.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and resolve patient accounts with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet productivity goals, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Review and resolve professional fee billing and collections accounts to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement from Medicare, Medi-Cal, commercial insurance, Workers' Compensation, and other payers.
  • Investigate billing issues, correct claim errors, and follow up on outstanding accounts using aging reports, worklists, and payer correspondence.
  • Research and analyze patient accounts to resolve billing discrepancies while providing excellent customer service to patients, providers, and insurance carriers.
  • Maintain productivity standards while ensuring compliance with payer guidelines, organizational policies, and billing procedures.
