About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to oversee billing operations for OBGYN clients' offices. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about medical billing software used to file insurance claims and manage accounts receivable and patient accounts. Prior experience is required. The specialist reviews and analyzes medical billing and coding for processing and accurately abstracts data and codes ambulatory surgery center procedures for reimbursement using ICD-10, CPT, and other applicable patient classification schemes. Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to patient billing and collection is needed, as is the ability to apply coding rules and use CPT and ICD codes and appropriate modifiers.

Requirements

Prior experience in medical billing and coding is required.
Knowledge of medical billing software for filing insurance claims and managing accounts receivable and patient accounts.
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to patient billing and collection.
Demonstrated ability to apply coding rules and use CPT and ICD codes and appropriate modifiers.
High school graduation or equivalent.
Three years of OBGYN billing and coding experience is highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Medical Billing and Coding Certification preferred, with successful completion of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding courses.
Three years of OBGYN billing and coding experience is highly preferred.
