About The Position

Universal Health Services (UHS) is a leading healthcare services provider with a strong record of achievement. River Point Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS, is an 84-bed treatment facility specializing in substance abuse and mental health issues for various age groups. The Patient Accounts Representative is primarily responsible for the timely follow-up of insurance claims until their final disposition. This includes following up on billed claims, researching and resolving denied claims, and collaborating with other departments. The role requires administrative and critical thinking skills, the ability to multitask, and sound judgment for complex account problems. Excellent customer service is essential for addressing billing issues and answering questions. The position involves using Excel spreadsheets, understanding credit balances and insurance verification, and assisting the Business Office Director with special projects.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts receivable or billing department, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Excel.
Any combination of education, training or experience in a business office environment.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration.
Experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
