About The Position
A multidisciplinary medical practice is looking for a Medical Biller or Insurance Billing Specialist who will be responsible for organizing patient medical costs and collecting payment from patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (Required)

- Associate Degree (Preferred)
- Medical billing: 1 year (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Set up payment arrangements, collect accounts, and monitor and pursue delinquent accounts.
- Monitor and resolve claim discrepancies, including but not limited to clearinghouse rejections and claim denials.
- Understanding of insurance billing and payment processing, as well as ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Calculating and collecting payments for services like procedures, tests, or surgeries
- Submit primary and secondary insurance claims electronically daily and on HCFA to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Provide telephone and office customer service for all patients and authorized representatives regarding patient accounts under practice protocol.
- Adhere to all practice policies related to HIPAA and Medicare Compliance.
- Obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications and Veterans Administration.
