About The Position
Billing Geeks is a New York City medical billing company with over 20 years of experience. We handle the full back office for therapy practices, allowing our clients to focus on patient care. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Biller to join our team. This role is fast-paced and requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a denial management queue effectively.
Requirements
- Proven medical billing experience.
- Ability to manage and own a workload independently.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proactive and able to follow through on tasks without constant supervision.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with denial management queues.
- Ability to anticipate and fix problems before they are widely known.
Responsibilities
- Building and scrubbing claims before submission to ensure accuracy and prevent rejections.
- Managing denials, including writing appeals when insurance companies deny claims.
- Posting payments and maintaining organized records.
- Communicating with patients regarding billing inquiries.
- Following up on outstanding claims via phone and insurance portals until resolution.
- Ensuring all billing practices are compliant with regulations.
