About The Position

BioMechanic Physical Therapy is seeking an experienced Medical Biller for their on-site, full-time position. The role involves communicating with internal staff, patients, insurance companies, lawyers, and workmen's compensation managers, requiring familiarity with all aspects of the billing cycle. The clinic is therapist-owned, emphasizing a positive, focused team environment with continuous learning and professional development. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, offering flexibility in work hours.

Requirements

  • Experienced Medical Biller
  • Familiarity with all aspects of the billing cycle
  • Proficiency with electronic claims submission
  • Proficiency with paper claim submissions (HCFA forms)
  • Experience with insurance verification
  • Experience with pre-authorizations
  • Ability to communicate with patients, front desk, clinical staff, insurance companies, lawyers, and workmen's compensation managers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a physical therapy practice

Responsibilities

  • Review patient schedule for the next day and note any balances or copays due. Print statements for patients with balances for front desk staff.
  • Make follow-up phone calls and print/mail patient billing statements weekly. Process statement folder, disposing of statements for balances paid.
  • Complete medical records requests as needed.
  • Handle claims issues or denials.
  • Address billing questions from patients, front desk, or clinical staff.
  • Submit electronic claims. Copy progress notes and submit HCFA forms for any paper claim submissions.
  • Complete insurance verification forms for in- and out-of-network patients. Print and attach benefit information. Call out-of-network patients and complete pre-authorizations as needed.
