About The Position

Leominster Public Schools Center for Technical Education Innovation (CTEi) is seeking a qualified Medical Assisting Vocational Teacher to deliver comprehensive instruction to high school students (Grades 9-12). The successful candidate will engage students in theoretical and practical skills related to healthcare careers, while also developing the curriculum and supervising hands-on training. Ideal applicants should have a strong foundation in medical terminology and clinical procedures, along with a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Four years of full-time experience in medical assisting.
• Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Current national certification as a medical assistant or medical assistant/secretary.
• Ability to obtain a Massachusetts Vocational Tech Teaching License through required exams and the MTEL literacy score.
• Proficiency in Medical Terminology.
• Proficiency in Clinical Procedures.
• Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills.
• Organizational Skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach medical assisting, including curriculum development and hands-on training.
• Supervise students in laboratory settings, ensuring safety and mastery of clinical skills.
• Provide academic and career guidance, including teaching job-search strategies.
• Use strong communication skills to guide students toward successful careers in healthcare.
