About The Position

Fortis Institute in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced, motivated faculty member to teach in its Medical Assisting Program. The full-time professional position focuses primarily on teaching Medical Assisting courses. The typical teaching load is three courses per term, involving two or three course preparations. The instructor also provides academic advising, assists the program director, and participates in department training, meetings, and graduation.

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• Certification as a CCMA, CMA, and/or RMA; RN or LPN is an acceptable alternative.
• CPR and/or BLS certification.
• At least three years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hands-on, patient-facing clinical environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree; preferred but not required.
• Prior higher education or postsecondary teaching experience; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach Medical Assisting courses.
