About The Position

South College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty Member for Medical Assisting at the Nashville Campus. This role involves providing instruction for Phlebotomy courses on a quarter-by-quarter basis. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Phlebotomy theory, skills, and special procedures relevant to various healthcare settings. Teaching opportunities are available during the day, evening, and on weekends.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an acceptable Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must provide a copy of transcript.
  • Must have completed a program of postsecondary education in Phlebotomy.
  • Hold a current Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification in the state of Tennessee.
  • Must provide a copy of certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time phlebotomy experience in the previous 7 years (venipuncture, blood collection, lab processing, ABG, and special specimen procurement).

Nice To Haves

  • Excellence in postsecondary teaching preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction for Medical Assisting courses, specifically in Phlebotomy.
  • Teach Phlebotomy theory, skills, and special procedures.
  • Prepare students to meet venipuncture needs in hospitals, clinical, and other healthcare settings.
