About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant at Ascension St. Vincent, specifically within the Podiatry Residency Clinic. The position is PRN, meaning as needed, with scheduled hours on Tuesdays from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in patient care by assisting physicians with examinations and treatments, performing clinical duties, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms. Additionally, the role involves basic clerical tasks such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing, as well as materials management including ordering and stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Medical Assistant preferred.

Nice To Haves

Prior MA or CMA experience in a healthcare clinic preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the examination and treatment of patients/participants under the direction of a physician.
Assist with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse.
Perform select clinical duties.
Interview patients/participants, measure vital signs, and record information on patients/participants' charts.
Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
