About The Position

Peachtree Immediate Care has an immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant at our Douglasville location. This is a full-time position requiring three, 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend shift. The role involves floating between the Douglasville, Villa Rica, and Carrolton Clinics when needed. Peachtree Immediate Care is a leading urgent care operator in Georgia, focused on providing an excellent patient experience. The Medical Assistant will provide healthcare services in a clinical setting, ensuring high standards of care and acting as a liaison between patients and medical providers. The ideal candidate will be caring, courteous, efficient, detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, perform basic medical procedures, and maintain confidentiality. Our centers offer walk-in care for various medical needs and family care.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistant, certification preferred.
Licensed Practical Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Basic Machine Operators, and Radiologic Technologists are required to be a graduate of an accredited school with applicable current State licensure.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Reliable transportation to commute to assigned regional offices.
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a high-paced facility.
Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.
Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years in an outpatient/clinic setting.

Responsibilities

Communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel and patients.
Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant (PA, PA-C), or Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP) in support of medical care provided in the specialty of Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine.
Perform patient intake, accept and return patient calls, perform lab work, general x-rays, administer medication, and assist in minor surgery.
Greet visitors, patients, and staff members professionally.
Perform selected duties within the scope of practice.
Maintain and perform all required quality control and compliance measures.
Maintain equipment for use in a clean and safe condition.
Prepare and maintain exams and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
Prepare patients for examination and treatment, documenting complaints, vital signs, current medication, and allergies thoroughly and accurately.
Initiate patient care before the provider's exam according to standing orders.
Perform lab tests as directed by the Physician, PA, or NP.
Administer medications as ordered by a CRH licensed provider.
Perform venipuncture per policy and apply dressing as instructed.
Follow proper procedure for the performance of Occupational Health services.
Follow proper procedures for the collection of radiographic images.
Perform direct patient care as instructed by the Physician, PA, or NP.
Assure that proper consents are obtained and signed.
Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
Assist the provider in preparing for minor surgeries and exams.
Perform wound care as instructed.
Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments/referrals.
Assure patient as needed, allay fears and answer questions.
Exhibit cooperation and a positive attitude toward other hospital departments and physicians’ offices.
Follow the procedure for authorized medication administration and narcotic control.
Communicate questions about the appropriateness of medical care through a chain of command.
Make suggestions to improve work methods.
Other duties may be assigned within the scope of practice.
Patient discharge, including reviewing written discharge instructions.
Answer telephone calls per department standards, relaying information as directed by the provider and documenting the same.
Complete routine equipment checks and stock supplies.
Notify appropriate staff of items needing to be ordered.
Attend pertinent in-service and educational conferences and quarterly staff meetings.
Take primary responsibility for keeping knowledge and skills current.
Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in the delivery of patient care.
