About The Position

APS Sentara Fam Med Thunder Rd 140 is seeking a Medical Assistant in Elizabeth City, NC. The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Requirements

One year of clinical/administrative experience required
Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
High School Diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy experience preferred
