About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides both clinical and non-clinical support to the physicians and mid-level providers. Assists physicians, providers and licensed staff in the management of patient flow and the environment of care, phone messaging, scheduling authorization of procedures, surgeries, deliveries and other duties that fall within the scope of non-licensed staff. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of general medical terminology, hospital policies and procedures and Joint Commission and HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain accurate patient medical records.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Analytical skills to determine job priorities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules authorization of procedures, surgeries, and deliveries.
