Requirements
- Completion of and certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification within four months of hire
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent computer, phone, communication, organization, and customer-service skills
- A professional, friendly, dependable, team-focused attitude
- Ability to multi-task efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Previous medical experience is preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for visits
- Collect and document medical histories
- Reconcile medications
- Perform preliminary physical tests
- Assist with office procedures and injections as requested
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies
- Triage phone messages
- Share provider-directed test results
- Coordinate referrals and follow-ups
- Assist with prescription and prior-authorization processes
- Maintain clean, fully stocked, patient-ready exam rooms
- Safeguard confidential medical information
- Support accurate documentation and coding
- Follow all clinic policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations
