Requirements

  • Completion of and certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification within four months of hire
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent computer, phone, communication, organization, and customer-service skills
  • A professional, friendly, dependable, team-focused attitude
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical experience is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for visits
  • Collect and document medical histories
  • Reconcile medications
  • Perform preliminary physical tests
  • Assist with office procedures and injections as requested
  • Communicate professionally with patients, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies
  • Triage phone messages
  • Share provider-directed test results
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-ups
  • Assist with prescription and prior-authorization processes
  • Maintain clean, fully stocked, patient-ready exam rooms
  • Safeguard confidential medical information
  • Support accurate documentation and coding
  • Follow all clinic policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations
