About The Position

Reporting to the Practice Manager, this position is the first clinical point of contact for SAMP patients and creates the first impression of the medical office. This role works under the direct clinical supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care and reports to the office coordinator/shift supervisor on administrative/operational issues. The Back Office Medical Assistant is an expert at providing excellent customer/patient services via phone and in person. The employee will work collaboratively with all service staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility, and embodying a “can do” attitude. The position exemplifies the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or two (2) years of prior experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and flexibility.
  • Strong computer skills with experience and proficiency with medical systems.
  • Ability to operate general office business machines (e.g., fax, copiers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Strong multi-tasking, planning, organization skills and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
