This role is for an experienced Medical Assistant to join their care team, working closely with a primary care physician. The Medical Assistant is crucial in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Due to Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants manage the full patient experience, encompassing both Medical Receptionist duties and clinical responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
  • Phlebotomy experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide patients with timely results via e-message, mail, or phone as directed.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
