About The Position

Castleview Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant (CMA) for their Family Medicine department. This PRN position operates on a day schedule. The role is vital in making communities healthier by providing exceptional care. The Medical Assistant works under the supervision of a Physician or Nurse, assisting with patient assessments and treatments, performing basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, and monitoring patient conditions. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment and medical supplies, and keeping examination areas, patient rooms, and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent required.
• Current Utah CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 60 days after hire date.
• Require critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
