About The Position

NOMS Healthcare is a physician-owned and physician-led organization focused on patient care and community betterment. We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Norwalk, Ohio. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care, assisting providers with daily tasks, managing patient charts, scheduling appointments, and supporting in-office procedures. You will also assist the front desk with clerical duties as needed and represent the medical office positively. Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification required (CMA/ RMA/ ABR-OE)
  • Minimum of one-year work experience in a public contact job, preferably in a medical office environment
  • Knowledge of the health care field
  • Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and their families
  • Skill in performing tasks correctly
  • Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions
  • Skill in understanding patient education needs and effectively sharing information
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor
  • Ability to be flexible and handle changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring for others
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with physicians, co-workers, patients, and patient’s families

  • Graduate of medical assisting program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned, including checking schedules, accompanying patients to exam rooms, assisting with walking and transfers, collecting specimens, taking patient history, performing screenings, assisting with procedures, charting, and relaying instructions.
  • Fulfill clerical responsibilities as assigned, including managing patient records, obtaining reports, completing forms, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing charts.
  • Fulfill environmental responsibilities as assigned, including setting up instruments, cleaning exam rooms and equipment, maintaining the sterilizer, ordering and storing supplies, and restocking exam rooms.
  • Fulfill organizational responsibilities as assigned, including respecting patient rights, responding to emergency codes, and reporting patient or staff issues to supervisors.
  • Comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
