About The Position

In this role, you will manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. You will also collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. You will record patients' vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, and sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Additionally, you will assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process, assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures, and perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
