Depending on operational needs, the MA may work at different clinic locations and may be required to work evenings or weekends. Work is performed in an office environment within a clinic setting, with frequent contact with staff and the public. The work may be stressful and may involve contact with upset people. Physical demands include a full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, standing and walking for long periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 35 pounds. The role involves exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
