Assist physicians with medical procedures in office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance. This role requires thorough documentation in the medical record chart of testing/treatment rendered to patients, preparing encounter forms for billing, and documenting all QC and QA corrective actions. The Medical Assistant will also maintain adequate inventory of supplies, initiate troubleshooting procedures for instrument malfunctions, and perform EKG testing where applicable. They must observe established safety guidelines, maintain cleanliness of the laboratory and equipment, and comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patient’s rights, safety, billing, and collections. Adherence to all AON and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan, is mandatory. Maintaining the confidentiality of all patient information at all times is crucial. The role also involves assisting in training new employees and potentially working at any AON location to meet business needs, including occasional overtime and weekend shifts.
