About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team. This role is a crucial part of the care team, working closely with a primary care physician to provide excellent patient care and an exceptional guest experience. Due to Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants will manage the full spectrum of the patient experience, encompassing both Medical Receptionist duties and clinical responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients to inform the provider.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Collaborate with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Partner with other care team members to develop individual patient plans of care, identifying and addressing gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside the clinic, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide patients with timely results via e-message, mail, or phone as directed by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement among eligible patient groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
