About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, VUMC is a community dedicated to advancing health and wellness through patient care, education, and research. The Ear, Nose and Throat team provides expert care for adults and children with a wide range of conditions. This role supports the licensed healthcare team by managing patient flow, gathering patient data, and assisting with patient education and communication.

Requirements

MA certification recognized by Vanderbilt Health (AMT, AAMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP) or ability to obtain certification within 120 days.
12 months of patient care experience (if needing to sit for exam).
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program.
Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Directs and supports patient flow as well as unit operations by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
Facilitates identification of resources to meet patient healthcare needs.
Performs/assists with procedures according to organizational/departmental standards.
Collects and documents patient screening data for the healthcare team.
Assists with patient and family education.
Additional duties may be assigned.
