About The Position
Comprehensive Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Nursing Services team. The role provides varied clinical and administrative support to help deliver high-quality treatment in a creative, collaborative environment focused on clinically excellent, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services. The Medical Assistant meets with clients before appointments to obtain health histories and current medication lists, checks vital signs, and accurately records information in client health records. The position may also support client education, insurance authorizations, and follow-up on laboratory results. The role is part of nursing services in Yakima and may support outpatient treatment programs for youth and adults.
Requirements
- Current Washington certification as a Medical Assistant (MA-C).
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide documentation upon hire, or have an approved qualifying medical or religious exemption before starting work.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to obtain health histories and lists of current medications.
- Measure and record clients’ vital statistics.
- Update client health records and complete medication reconciliations.
- Complete laboratory slips as needed.
- Assist with client education as directed by medical providers or nurses.
- Maintain urine drug screening for clients and communicate results to clinical staff.
- Obtain prior authorizations from payors.
- Accurately complete clinical documentation in a client-centered manner.
