About The Position

APG Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Franklin Square, New York location. This role is in a fast-paced, team-focused pediatric urgent care environment. The company is expanding pediatric urgent care services across Suffolk and Nassau County and is building a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality care when families need it most. Requirements

Current BLS and PALS certifications required
EKG certification/experience required
Phlebotomy experience required
Strong clinical, multitasking, and communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate, team-oriented, and patient-focused mindset

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant certification preferred
Urgent care, emergency medicine, or pediatric experience strongly preferred
Experience with EMR systems preferred (athenaOne experience a plus)

Responsibilities

Room and prepare pediatric patients for urgent care visits
Obtain vitals, medical histories, and perform clinical intake
Assist providers with urgent care procedures and patient flow
Perform phlebotomy
Perform EKGs
Perform point-of-care testing, and specimen collection
Support medication administration and clinical documentation
Educate and reassure patients and families during visits
Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards
Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and front desk staff
Help ensure an efficient, positive patient experience
