The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and conduct Point of Care testing. Additionally, they will administer medications and vaccines safely, complete CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests, and perform other assigned duties such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. The position requires cross-training for duties relevant to specialty or clinic practice, demonstrating effective communication and teamwork, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development.
